The implementation of the NitroFixSal Project, funded by Horizon2020 and conducted at our faculty’s Department of Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology, is nearing completion since its launch on July 1st, 2021.

The project's objective was to obtain nitrogen-fixing bacteria with additional plant growth-promoting traits from highly saline environments and introduce them into the soil to enhance the growth of wheat seedlings under salt stress conditions. The EC’s website provides a brief description of the project's aims and achieved objectives.
