OBSIDIAN - Microbiology, Soil science, Food quality and Agricultural genetics

Second Edition of Virtual International Conference

„Plant productivity and food safety: Soil science, Microbiology, Agricultural Genetics and Food quality”

15-16.09.2022

It is a great honor to invite you to the second edition of the Conference, the main goal of which is to enable the exchange of knowledge, views and scientific experience in terms of the maintenance of a microbiome favorable to plant development and the sustainable soil use as a key factors increasing tolerance of plants against abiotic and biotic environmental conditions and to maintain their high productivity. Moreover, the research on environmental factors that drive mycorrhizal diversity of the global carbon and nitrogen cycles will be highlighted. The five thematic panels will broadly discuss new research trends in plant microbiome and lipidome and the effect of abiotic factors on their growth and development,  in obtaining plants safe for health with increased nutritional value, the use of biocontrol and biofortification factors in plant crops and the need to monitoring changes in the soil environment in order to achieve the sustainable management of soil resources. The conference will be an opportunity to present global and national activities in the field in improving the latest food production technologies, analyzing the properties of the food products and the safety of their production, storage and use.

The full two days conference will comprise invited lectures by recognized experts on the themes of the plant microbiome, nanotechnologies for food safety,  food analysis and processing, agricultural  and urban soils and short oral presentations within five traditional sessions in the following areas:

Session I: Plant-microbial interactions in agriculture and ecosystem management

Session II: Bio-based  products and nanotechnologies for food safety and sustainable agriculture

Session III: Plant and algal lipids as advanced feedstock for biofuels and feed

Session IV: Current status and future developments in food sciences

Session V: Agricultural  and urban soils – towards to sustainable use and management

Workshop:  „A GIS application for assessing, mapping, and quantifying the ecosystem changes

17.09.2022

After the conference the workshops about the use of GIS techniques in environmental and ecological research enabling independent spatial analysis using QGIS program will be organized.

We very much look forward to your participation.

Best regards,
